Can You Hear Me at the Back? Discover Your Public Speaking Voice

Time. Arguably, the most precious thing you have. And yet we waste a lot of it: Procrastinating on social media, arguing about trivialities, allowing distractions to dictate your schedule. What about pointless rituals? Boring lectures, work presentations that nobody listens to, conference speeches that seem to never end. If nobody listens, who are all these people speaking to?

Public speaking is one of the most powerful ways of influencing others. By wasting public speaking time, we waste potential to influence and change. And we can all watch videos on youtube and read endless articles online about “easy tips” and “quick steps” but the fact of the matter is that public speaking is a skill that needs practice and guidance.

This public speaking course is designed to offer coaching to you if you want to engage  your audience, make an impression at work, create change, influence others, stop wasting time and enjoy doing so!

Lead by Dimitrios Loukakis, the 6-week course offers

  • An introduction to the fundamentals of public speaking (fundamentals are always good)

  • Managing nerves (we’ve all been there)

  • Smart ways to grab and sustain attention (Anyone listening?)

  • Troubleshooting (sticky situations?)

  • Practical methods to impact your audience (even when you think you can’t)

  • Bespoke training (because one size rarely fits all)

  • A fun and supportive environment to experiment with ideas (keep what works, chuck what doesn’t)

  • More confidence speaking in front of others (who doesn’t like a confident speaker)

  • The partner of your dreams (ok maybe that’s pushing it, but who knows..?)

Step out of the shadows, make your voice heard and stop wasting your time.

Free Your Vocal And Physical Self

As adults in a modern world, our behaviour and voice become stale and fixed through routine and repetition. The way we use our voices and bodies solidifies and we begin to reject behaviour outside our shrinking comfort zone. However, in our professional and personal lives, there are occasions like public speaking, meetings, meaningful socialising and networking, when we need to be present and connect with others.

In this course, Dimitrios Loukakis adopts vocal and physical explorations used in professional actor training to help you find your voice, be in your body  and find greater ease in your everyday communication. Each class includes a physical and vocal warm-up, activities, games and exercises, best approached with playfulness and curiosity.

Join us on a 6 week journey starting on 18 September 2018

MAYA MEETINGS presents

TAKING ON THE CHALLENGE OF CHANGE with Bee Bakare

Sometimes change comes to us, and sometimes we choose it – perhaps because we’re not happy with how things are in certain areas of our lives.

In both cases, it’s common to find ourselves afraid of it. This can be one of the biggest barriers to change both at work and in our personal lives because it stops us taking any action at all (hello, procrastination anyone?).

Bee Bakare will share her story with us, taking us on her journey between making a choice, and then making that vision a reality. Of how she went from being a Medical Professional to singing in Buckingham palace and in just 2 years!

Join us and let Bee’s story

  • inspire you to take on the life you want
  • help you overcome the fear of change
  • give you helpful tools to get you ready for change
  • challenge procrastination
  • move towards, and accept, YOUR vision for change
